Jenn Tran

Jenn TranJenn Tran is from City Heights, a beautiful diverse neighborhood located in San Diego. Jenn joined transcenDANCE as a teen company dancer in 2013 and has advanced to be a Teaching Artist Apprentice as of 2020. She had never taken dance classes before joining transcenDANCE and she has never stopped since the first class. As a free spirit, she continues to develop her dance skills through training in Hip-Hop, Modern/Contemporary and West African. Jenn loves to blend her dance styles as a teacher. She hopes to continue to work with youth, adults, and anyone who has a calling to make the world a more expressive, free world through Art. While attending San Diego City College, Jenn presented her choreography in the Dance Showcase in a piece titled, Unleashed: A Series of Stories. Jenn has continued her training through Culture Shock’s 2019 Fall Scholarship program. In 2018 and 2019, Jenn was a featured performer for two different performance residencies at the International San Diego Airport and the NTC Arts District at Liberty Station. She had the most blessed opportunity to work with Jason Mraz in the 2020 musical production of SHINE, along with other amazing transcenDANCE dancers, Malashock Dance, A Reason to Survive (A.R.T.S), The San Diego Queer Youth Chorus, and Banding Together. Jenn wouldn’t be where she is today without her amazing mentors whom she has worked with: Catherine Corral, Tonnie Sammartano, grace shinhae jun, Seiha Vor, Ron Davis, Zack J. King, Angelica Lopez, Nhu Nguyen, Angela Moran, Dante Finch, Debi Toth-Ward, Keomi Tarver, Vivianna Alcazar, Jaime Nixon, Dana Maue and Ms. Akayaa Atule.
