Angelica Lopez

Angelica Lopez is a passionate dancer, choreographer and teaching artist who has been dancing and performing for thirteen years. It was not until she joined and began performing with TranscenDANCE in 2006 that her passion for dance took over her life. There she gained the knowledge and tools needed to become a teaching artists and had the opportunity to train with Mara Harris, Kathryn Irey, Anthony C. Cole, Suzanne Forbes, Grace Shinhae Jun, Tonnie Sommertano and many other teaching artists. Through them she has learned different styles of dance which have influenced her life in many levels. After working with Evoke Dance Theater in their Teacher Training program she began her teaching career first by giving Hip-Hop dance classes with TranscenDANCE, then moving out into the community of Logan Heights where she teaches Hip-Hop dance to children in the Logan Heights Library. She also teaches Hip-Hop dance and ZUMBA® at the University of San Diego. She is currently working on her A.A. in Kinesiology and plans on attending SDSU where she hopes to major in Kinesiology and minor in Dance.
