transcenDANCE is a catalyst for student and community transformation. Through our Contribute program:
- Our students’ transformative experiences develop their leadership, resilience, and confidence to make a positive contribution to the San Diego region and the communities they live in.
- Our students’ ability to break barriers and to become positive role models continues to expand transcenDANCE’s commitment and contribution to social change in the neighborhoods we serve.
- transcenDANCE alumni contribute to transcenDANCE through paid teaching artist, teaching assistant, and choreography opportunities. They are also connected with performance opportunities, residencies with various community partners, mentoring, and Advisory Board leadership roles.
- Our founder, Catherine Corral, has been a pioneer and a trailblazer in Creative Youth Development. Our 11 years of experience in creating exemplary youth development experiences allows us to be an advocate for expressive arts education and to contribute to the emerging field of Creative Youth Development.
